Hello, hello, hello!

First of all, I would like to thank you for checking out this newsletter, or my work, or both. Your support really does mean a lot, because it tells me what within my work you resonate with the most, and lets me know that I’m doing a good job.

If we’ve never met, hi! I’m Joey. I’m primarily a writer, cartoonist, and graphic designer, but have been known to be everything from a brand and marketing designer to a bookseller to a podcaster. Most of my work these days is either autobiographical or gay romance—because apparently all I can muster myself to talk about is either all the wild things I’ve lived through or how much I love other men—but I’ve found myself stretching into nonfiction as of late, as well as rediscovering my love for creating fan works.

A woman guides an adolescent boy out of a tent. They both have brown skin, red hair, and prominent noses, and wear clothing and jewelry based on Amazigh traditional clothing. This panel is part of a greater Legend of Zelda fan comic.
An image of two nude men holding each other intimately. Most of their bodies have been covered up with a panel that reads, "Whoops! Can't show that in a Christian manga!"
Two boys are drawn more prominently in a group of several teenagers either carrying rowing oars down a hill, or running back up to fetch more; the two boys in particular each hold two oars. Captioned is an exchange screenshotted from a Tumblr post: "The psychiatrist diagnosed me with divine madness" "any other diagnoses you'd like to share?" "autism".

Thank you for subscribing, and I’m excited for you to come on this creative journey with me!
